Visual Impairment Team (OCC)

This is the professional specialist team for visually impaired people who are part of the Social and Community Services Department of Oxfordshire County Council. They offer assessment, advice, information and rehabilitative training, in daily living and mobility skills, to enable people to remain independent and safe. They are also able to supply, in certain circumstances, equipment and aids to independent living. They receive referrals from a variety of sources, including from the Ophthalmology Department of the Hospital Trust when a person is eligible to be registered. They also accept referrals and enquiries directly from visually impaired people and their families. They link closely with OAB working on joint projects and informing people of our services.
