The
British Wireless for the Blind Fund
(BWBF) was established
in 1928 to help ease the loneliness of blindness with specially
adapted audio equipment, provided free for life to UK-registered
blind and partially sighted people, over the age of eight,
who are in need.
Blind or partially sight registration may qualify you for
a specially adapted radio, or radio/cassette/ CD player. OAB
is the local agent for the British Wireless for the Blind
Fund. We manage equipment for anyone who is registered blind
or partially sighted. The range includes Roberts radio with
presets, which cannot be changed accidentally. The radio /
cassette player / CD player have bright yellow buttons, which
are easy to handle. To benefit those with residual sight,
Roberts Duet DAB model casing is in contrasting charcoal and
yellow for maximum visibility, with raised, brightly coloured
and illuminated controls and a bright yellow mains lead. The
set also features Roberts’ pioneering Pause Plus technology
which gives listeners the ability to pause and rewind their
favourite radio shows at the push of a button.
For
information on eligibility and the equipment available, please

all items can be brought from BWBF. Further information on
